Adriano Alessandrini
Mechanical engineer since 1998 (the old style Italian Laurea equivalent to
B.Sc.+M.Sc.) and Ph.D. in energy technologies since 2003 Adriano is
currently Research Fellow (Assegnista di Ricerca) at DITS (Dipartimento di
Idraulica Trasporti e Strade Universit di Roma La Sapienza).
In March 2006 he was contracted as expert by European Commission
Direction I Environment to review the contribution EU R&D Framework
Programme (FP) projects to the implementation of ETAP (Action Plan on
Environmental Technology). The review assessed how the scientific,
technical, economic, environmental, social and cultural outputs of the
projects fostered the development and deployment of environmental
technologies.
Expert in transport systems and in environmental impact of transport,
his main research field, he has been participating and conducting, in 9
years since his graduation, 25 national and EU funded research projects
most recent of which are the following:
- Honda Italia SpA: development of a monitoring tool for Civic IMA
(2005); Drive-style Emissions Testing on Civic Hybrid (2006);
- DG Research: CityMobil (2006-current), HOST (2005-current) and
CyberMove (2001-04);
- DG INFSO: CyberCars (2001-04), CAPITALS ITTS (2002-04) and GIFTS
(2001-04)
- DG TREN: FreightWise (2006-current), A Study Of Single Wagonload
Rail Traffic (2000); PLATFORM (1998-99), MAESTRO (1998-99), Benchmarking
Local Passenger Transport System (1999)
- SAVE EC programme: FLEETS (1996-2000), MALTESE (199799);
- Italian Ministry of Research (MIUR): CTL-Excellence centre for
transport and logistics (2003-2006), Design of a low environmental
impact power-train for city-cars (2000-2002).
He has participated in national and international conferences and been
published in the leading transport journals. Languages: Italian, English
