Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan on November 16th, 1950.

1975 Graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Hitotsubashi University, majored in International Economics.
1975 Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan
     Legal Affairs Division of the Treaties Bureau
1976~ Studied abroad in Beijing, Hong Kong, and the United States (at Harvard Univ.)
1979 The First Southeast Asia Division of the Asian Affairs Bureau
1987 Consul at the Japanese Consulate General in Hong Kong (Political Director)
1997 Minister of the Embassy of Japan in New Zealand
2003 Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Poland
