Prof. Dr. Michael Decker
Professor for Technology Assessment Karlsruhe Institute for Technology Michael Decker, Professor, Dr., studied physics (minor subject economics) at the university of Heidelberg, 1995 doctorate at the university of Heidelberg, 2006 habilitation at the University of Freiburg with a study on interdisciplinary research for technology assessment. Since November 2009 he is Professor for Technology Assessment at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). From 1995-1997 he worked as scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Stuttgart, 1997-2002 member of the scientific staff of the Europäische Akademie GmbH. Since 2003 he is member of the scientific staff and since February 2004 vice-director of the Institute for Technology Assessment and System Analysis (ITAS) at the KIT. He chairs the coordination team of the German-speaking Network Technology Assessment. Main research areas: Comparison of TA-methods and interdisciplinary research for policy advice, TA of nanotechnology, pervasive computing and robotics. Contact details: www.itas.kit.edu .
