Maurizio Tomassini

Associate Consultant
ISIS

Since the beginning of 2007, Maurizio Tomassini is an associate consultant with ISIS, a consultancy active in EU-funded RTD projects. Prior to that he spent one year (2006) in charge of international activities within the new mobility agency of Rome, ATAC (following its merger with STA) and 9 years (1996-2205) as Director of Systems & Innovation at STA, the Mobility Agency of the Municipality of Rome.  At STA, he was in charge of:

  1. The design, promotion and implementation of  EU funded projects in the areas of transport and land use integrated planning,  and of telematic systems for the monitoring and control of traffic and environment
  2. The design and implementation of sustainable mobility programmes: mobility managers, car pooling, car sharing, electric vehicles, etc.
  3. The design and implementation of telematic systems for mobility management, notably in preparation of the Jubilee 2000.

Maurizio Tomassini holds a degree in Physics from the University of Rome (1969) and has over 30 years of professional experience in different fields of technology development such as: electro-optical devices and system design, alternative energy technologies, real time integrated environment monitoring and decision support systems.
He was President of POLIS in the years 2001 and 2002 and has been, from 1997 to 2000, Vice President of IMPACTS Europe.
