Peter Wintlev-JensenPeter Wintlev-Jensen is currently Head of Sector in the European Commission DG Information Society responsible for development of policy and research strategy related to Information and Communication Technologies and Demographic Ageing. He has been involved in this field for the last 4 years, including the preparation of the new European Joint Research Programme on Ambient Assisted Living, development of the ICT research agenda on Ageing in the 7th Framework Programme and the recent EU Action Plan on Ageing Well in the Information Society. Before this assignment he developed the policy with Member States on the European Research Area in the field of ICT, coordinated the COST programme in ICT and was strongly involved in the establisment of the European initiatives on electronic Research Networks (currently known as GEANT). Before joining the European Commission in 1990 he worked in the telecommunications industry as project manager in Denmark and US in a number of large industrial computing and communications projects. He has an Engineering degree in Electronic Systems from Aalborg University in Denmark.
