Mr Sanjeev Kumar
ETS Coordinator at WWF EPO.
Since 1999 Sanjeev Kumar has worked across the depth and breadth of the
global energy sector firstly with the Energy Institute in the UK and now
with the WWF European Policy Office. He has been involved in cross-cutting
issues which are integral to the oil & gas, renewables, coal, carbon
management and energy efficiency sectors. His principle aim has been to
promote the operation and understanding of holistic energy markets and as
well as promoting appreciation of the science and engineering that
underpins energy.
Some of these activities include:
- Designing the Register of Energy Consultants. This is an
accreditation scheme for energy and carbon management experts who are
licensed on behalf of the Carbon Trust and the UK Government to provide
carbon management guidance to industry;
- Judging entries for the National Energy Efficiency Awards 2007 which
are organised by UKCEED and DEFRA;
- Steering Committee member mapping occupations and functions in the
UK renewable energy industry;
- Member of the UK Governments Office of Central Government Energy
Efficiency Task Force reviewing public sector energy management
policies;
- Designing a recruitment service for scientists and engineers in the
energy sector;
- Designing the internationally recognised Chartered Energy Engineer
and Chartered Petroleum Engineer professional qualifications.
Other activities range from writing articles on energy policy and
energy management to designing training courses, developing conference and
event programmes, supporting stakeholder representation and establishing
professional knowledge sharing networks.
