Dr. Stephan Lechner
Dr. Stephan Lechner, born 1964, received his diploma
in Mathematics and Computer Sciences from Giessen University, Germany in 1989. He joined
Siemens Central research in Munich as software developer and security
architect the very same year and completed his PhD in cryptography at Linz
University, Austria in 1993 along with his work as manager of a large
European research project in the area of security management. From 1994 to
1996 he was head of IT security at the German Mobile Network Operator
E-Plus in Dusseldorf, from 1997 to 2002 head of Corporate Security at O2
Germany, covering all aspects of physical, electronic and IT
security.
Stephan Lechner returned to Siemens Corporate Technology in
Munich early 2002 and is since successfully heading the central Siemens
security research department, located in Munich and Beijing, China.
Besides other appointments, he is member of the European Network and
Information Security Agencys (ENISA) Permanent Stakeholders Group,
member of the European Security Research Advisory Board and Chairman of
the European Secure Information Society Technology (SecurIST) Advisory
Board.
